A spot of deviation

Article Abstract:

Charts are useful in the investment arena, and the favoured Marks and Spencer chart is illustrated and analyzed. The chart reflects the principle of mean reversion, that everything returns to average sooner or later, and this is true in economics. Many types of data can be fitted to the chart template, such as simple price charts, price/earnings ratio and price/relative. Yields or yield relatives are linked more closely to cash returns that investors obtain from holding shares, and could have a more powerful force on share prices.
