Accidents highlight structural issues

Article Abstract:

Environmental policy issues related to explosion that occurred on November 13, 2005 in a chemical plant based in Chinese city Jilin are discussed. An investigation into the explosion has indicated an attempt to cover up the issue, which resulted in death of six workers apart from release of hazardous chemicals in Songhua River. Chinese mining industry is also flaunting safety standards.
