Adman Farago foresees Net with live video

Article Abstract:

Peter Farago, owner and president of a New York advertising agency, developed a software program called CU-See Me which he is currently experimenting with. CU-See Me allows an audio/visual link up by using personal computers and tiny video cameras. Although Farago feels that full-blown on the Internet is still a little far off, he believes that his Video on the Net innovation will become one of the hottest technologies to hit the market in the future. He claims that his immediate goal is to augment broadcast television with Internet video services.

CompuServe will refocus on business forums and communities, rather than online services, to regain profitability. It has dropped its consumer online efforts after failing to compete with top firms in the online market. It will offer specialized forums on a Web premium and will convert its WOW! subscribers into CompuServe interactive.

Do CD-ROMs still fit in mix? Web makes marketers question the tool's viability

Article Abstract:

CD-ROMs remain a useful business marketing tool despite questions against its viability. First, CD-ROM are excellent for software demonstrations because they offer easier test-drive than download operations. They can also be used to store large static databases without need for frequent updates. Finally, CD-ROMs can be used as customized material, electric sales collateral and for interactive broadcast quality presentations.
