Feeling the squeeze

Article Abstract:

Wm Morrison Supermarkets faces tough competition among UK supermarkets, with pressure on costs to improve service to customers, and downwards pressure on prices. Loyalty programs are being used by the major companies, and Wm Morrison could be left exposed if it does not set up its own scheme. A major retailer may seek to acquire the company, but the bid could be referred to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission. A stake of 35% is held by the Morrison family.
