An African adventure

Article Abstract:

Financial analyst J. Camille Gallant found extreme excitement and interest in visiting remote localities in Eritrea, Red Sea, as part of a fisheries project initiated by the African Development Bank. As senior associate at Canadian Fishery Consultants, Gallant was tasked to come up with a detailed financial analysis of the project, particularly the credit funding design to be implemented in the area. The $18 million project involves the creation of a fishery site to provide livelihood to about 2,300 fishermen.

Lights, camera, accountants!

Article Abstract:

A growing number of Canadian accountants have started penetrating the Canadian film and television business, inspired by Peter McQuillan, who is considered as the 'father of film accounting' in the country. Other certified accountants in the business, including Neal Clarance of Ellis Foster and Ann MacKenzie and Wayne Crawley of the Nova Scotia Film Development Corp, talk about how the business is attractive not only for financial reasons but also for the fun and creative side of it.
