An enriched look at tyrosine phosphorylation

Article Abstract:

Abnormalities in tyrosine phosphorylation are directly responsible for the pathogenesis of numerous inherited and acquired human diseases and unfortunately the existing proteomics techniques for detecting proteins containing phosphotyrosine continue to leave these proteins under represented. This deficiency is addressed with a sample-preparation technique specific for the enrichment of phosphotyrosine-containing peptides.

Combined static and dynamic analysis for determining the quality of time-series expression profiles

Article Abstract:

Time-series expression experiments are an increasingly popular method for studying a wide range of biological processes. An approach is proposed which combines time-series and static (average) expression data analysis for each gene and determines whether its temporal expression profile can be reconciled with its static expression levels.

Immunotargeting of catalase to the pulmonary endothelium alleviates oxidative stress and reduces acute lung transplantation injury

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to examine whether targeting of an antioxidant enzyme, catalase, to the pulmonary endothelium alleviates oxidative stress in an 'in vivo' model of lung transplantation. The purpose is this study is to improve the outcome of clinical lung transplantation and to treat a wide variety of endothelial disorders.
