Another CEK 3 bil will be invested in Slany

Article Abstract:

Electric Powersteering Components Europe (EPCE) (Slany, Czech Republic), automotive component manufacturer, has been set up as a joint venture. Its founders are Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (MEC) (Japan) and Koyo Seiko (KS) (Japan). MEC holds a 90% stake and KS a 10% stake in EPCE. The joint venture has a stock of CEK 500 mil. EPCE will build a CEK 1 bil plant, which will have 260 employees and will be commissioned in the autumn of 2002. It will produce a total of 700,000 power-steering control units every year. The units will be supplied to France, where they will be assemlied into final products.

Mitsubishi's investments in Slany

Mitsubishi Electric Automotive Czech (Slany, Czech Republic), automotive component manufacturer, is building a starter and alternator plant in Slany. The investment costs on the plant's construction should be CEK 1.2 bil. The plant will have 280 employees. The firm will receive an investment incentive from the state for the project. The volume of Japanese direct investments in the Czech Republic have totalled CEK 43.5 bil. The investments ensured 17,100 jobs.

Japanese firms will build a new plant in Slany

Article Abstract:

Koyo Seiko (KS) (Japan), electrical power steering manufacturer, will set up a joint venture with Mitsubishi Electric (ME) (Japan) in the Czech Republic in 2001. The power steering joint venture should build a plant in Slany, the Czech Republic. KS and ME want to invest CEK 1 bil in the plant. ME is one of five large Japanese electronic chip manufacturers. The investment in Slany is being ensured by the state investment agency Czechinvest (Czech Republic).
