Antidepressants and criminal behavior

Article Abstract:

Nearly one million people in the UK take the supposedly 'safe and effective' selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class of antidepressant drugs, but a small fraction of these become dangerously violent after taking these drugs. Several British prison inmates are serving sentences for crimes for which they are not fully responsible as they were committed under the influence of SSRIs, but these individuals could be released without any danger to society if their medication is appropriately adjusted and supervised.

'Volunteers wanted for trial of new drug'

Article Abstract:

A drug is tested extensively in laboratory on animals and is then tested on human volunteers, who are healthy and those who suffer from the condition for which the drug is developed. However, sometimes tests do not go as planned and volunteers may develop serious conditions due to the side effects of the drug, therefore a new set of rules is being considered for drug development and testing.
