Article Abstract:

Alliant Techsystems Inc., Hopkins, Minn., is being awarded $108,206,178 as part of a $399,705,684 firm-fixed-price multi-year contract for 120 mm, M831A1 TP-T 120 mm cartridge and the M865 TPCSDS-T 120 mm cartridge, for the countries of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The M831A1 is the high explosive training round and the M865 is the kinetic energy training round, with both rounds having inert projectiles used for live fire training for M1A1/M1A2 tanks. There also will be an award of the services of container handling and technical data package maintenance for 120 mm tank training ammunition. Work will be performed at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Middletown, Iowa, and is expected to be completed by Oct. 31, 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were two bids solicited on Sept. 1, 1998, and two bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Armament, Munitions & Chemical Command, Rock Island, Ill. (DAAA09-99-C-0020)

Article Abstract:

GTE Government Systems Corp., Communications Systems Division, Taunton, Mass., is being awarded a $14,285,186 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract to exercise options for ten Single Shelter Switch Shelters (AN/TTC-56(V) with peripheral equipment, for the Project Manager, Warfighter Information Network-Terrestrial (WIN-T). Work will be performed in Taunton, Mass. (53.5%); and Laguna, N.M. (46.5%), and is expected to be completed by Dec. 30, 2000. Of the total contract funds, $220,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on July 10, 1998. The U.S. Army Communications & Electronics Command, Ft. Monmouth, N.J., is the contracting activity (DAAB07-97-C-F759).
