Article Abstract:

ITT Aerospace/Communications Division, Fort Wayne, Ind., is being awarded a $10,318,012 modification to a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to improve the Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System (SINCGARS) advanced system improvement program (ASIP) radio and the internet controller, to provide for improved performance to the tactical internet. Specific improvements will allow packet data to be routed more efficiently throughout the tactical internet. The internet controller software will be upgraded to support the internet group management protocol, will be developed and tested to efficiently command and control gateways between SINCGARS, and enhanced position location reporting systems. Work will be performed in Clifton, N.J., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Feb. 19, 1996. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Communications & Electronics Command, Fort Monmouth, N.J. (DAAB07-96-C-C505).

Article Abstract:

Motorola, Market Solution Division, Scottsdale, Ariz., is being awarded $5,852,865 as part of a $10,668,738 (base year total) cost-plus-fixed-fee contract with a not-to-exceed cumulative total of $44,881,638 if all options are exercised. The contractor will design, engineer, assemble, integrate, deliver, and support the Army Tactical Operations Center for the first digitized division (FDD). Work will be performed at Ft. Hood, Texas (60%), and Scottsdale, Ariz. (40%), and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 64 bids solicited on Sept. 4, 1999, and three bids were received. The U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (DAAH01-99-C-0063).

Ceridian Corp., Bloomington, Minn., was awarded on Sept. 11, 1998, a $449,231 increment of a $7,133,564 modification to a $39,713,469 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for Battlefield Awareness and Data Dissemination Segment Development and Integration, and demonstration support. Work will be performed in Bloomington, Minn., and is expected to be completed by June 30, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Feb. 14, 1996. The contracting activity is the Defense Advanced Research Activity, Arlington, Va. (MDA972-96-C-0017).
