Companies marketing their products and services in volatile markets should be aware of several effective hedging techniques to protect their investments and to assure the continuity of business in the market. Some effective hedging techniques include billing and collecting in hard currency, insuring receivables thorugh export-import banks or underwriters and borrowing in local currency. Debt for equity, debt refinancing and debt rollover are also effective techniques in minimizing exposure due to currency fluctuations.
