The digital video marketplace is the main focus of m2 Software Equity, which has already invested in three California software companies. Stakes in the various companies vary from 10% to 51%.

'50S MEET '90S IN `VIRTUAL SEMINAR': SUN MICROSYSTEMS USES 3-D GLASSES TO TOUT SOLARIS 7 SOFTWARE

Sun Microsystems is direct marketing its new network software Solaris 7 by sending 3D glasses to potential buyers. Sun's agency, Directech, also created a web-based seminar to tout the new product, its upgrades and purchasing choices. The firm says about 4,000 people have used the glasses to check the visuals on the web seminar.
