Black's expands into superstores

Article Abstract:

Black Photo Corp's new store is distinctly larger than its other stores across Canada. More than 200 stores are in the 1,200 sq-ft range while the superstore is about 5,000 sq ft in size. The superstore concept was developed by the Markham, Ontario-based company's VP of Imaging and New Business Development, Steven Poole, who believes that consumer shopping patterns are shifting to the power mall and away from the enclosed mall.

Throop Photo Supply

Article Abstract:

Throop Photo Image Center has installed a Noritsu digital minilab to respond to customer demands. The store appeals to a more discerning customer who is also more educated, given their knowledge about digital imaging. More customers are equipped with digital cameras and files that need printing. Thus, Throop Photo Image Center has installed two digital output kiosks to respond to customer need.

Article Abstract:

Ginn Photographic Co has been developing new services wherever possible, including digital input and output, digital laboratory services and photo education. The company plans to improve the printer/scanner display and to bring in the company's first retail computer inventory system. It also plans to add a digital minilab and a wide carriage digital printer/laminator. The company has purchased additional space in Nov 2000, which has the added benefit of freeing up retail display space.
