Blast from the past

Article Abstract:

Tiny Rowland was chief executive of Lonrho, and has attacked the management of his old company over the planned merger with Imapala Platinum of Lonrho's platinum interests. Rowland has paid for advertisements criticizing this move, arguing that Lonrho's mining interests have been undervalued, and Lonrho could become less attractive to investors. The management denies these claims and argues that the merger will allow Lonrho to realise potential. Rowland holds a 6.5%stake in Lonrho, and will be able to vote with other shareholders on the issue in Nov 1995.
