Brave new reporting

Article Abstract:

'Comprehensive Audit Reporting: Concepts, Issues, Practice,' a research report by the Canadian Comprehensive Auditing Foundation (CCAF), suggests a redefinition of auditing and a change in auditing and audit reporting methods. The study reveals that while direct reporting to governing bodies was originally used by auditors, a modified direct reporting approach using value-for-money criteria and the attestation approach are becoming popular. The CCAF report likewise recommends the inclusion of scope, assurance levels and significance factors in audit reports.
