Article Abstract:

A new category of slot machine, called the amusement with prize (AWP) machine, was created with the introduction of the 1965 UK Gaming Law, which restricted the amount of payout. The machines underwent various modifications over the years, but the basic premise of a low maximum cash jackpot has remained.

The Polish games machines market and the gaming industry are in its early stages and with the country's cumbersome regulations the growth of the industry is very slow. The game industry exhibition Surexpo 2003 is also discussed.
