Business interruption insurance

Article Abstract:

An analysis of business interruption insurance coverage available to British corporations points out that such coverage can extend from the date of interruption to the return to profit levels experienced prior to the interruption (which time would obviously be later than the date of business resumption). Other aspects of business interruption insurance discussed include: calculating the annual gross profit amount for insurance purposes, inclusion of expenses in such calculations, insuring employees' salaries as a separate item for business interruption purposes, the dangers of under-insurance, indemnity periods, and the hazards that should be insured against. Several types of interruption insurance are analyzed; each type is based on the hazard insured against.

Extra forms of commercial insurance

Article Abstract:

In addition to traditional business insurance, such as fire and theft policies, a number of supplementary policies are now available that cover virtually every economic hazard that could threaten a business. Among the plans are policies that insure against damage to computer equipment, fraud by employees, cash lost or goods stolen in transit, and emergency road service. In response to the rise in liability litigation, there are also a number of policies for product liability and wrongful trading liability by company directors.

Providing for school fees

Article Abstract:

UK parents consider independent education to be a popular but an expensive option, and they are finding it very difficult to meet the required fees. There are a number of available options which spread the fees over a broader period of time than that during which a child is receiving an education, including paying lump sums in advance, or borrowing money and repaying over time.
