Deregulation and the widespread availability and uptake of broadband have helped turn the Internet telephony from a disappointing novelty into a promising technology. Businesses can gain a lot from the adoption of Internet protocol (IP) telephony since it reduces the cost of call, makes it easy to add and remove users, creates a single control point for network management, improves the audit ability of communications, makes networks more resilient, and reduces business continuity risks.
