Buy side commentary

Article Abstract:

CDA-Investnet observed minimal insider purchase filing for mid-Feb 1993 so no issues were analyzed in the buy side section. CDA-Investnet featured 66 issues with buy-side speculations during the 4th qtr 1992. Fifty seven out of the 66 issues posted higher prices as of Feb 1993 so the analyses were commendable. In the 1st week of Feb 1993, large corporations were given recommendations over smaller issues. The analysis was proven right by the activity in the Dow Industrials as compared to the Nasdaq.

How much has the foundation weakened?

Article Abstract:

Insider trading in securities can indicate whether a stock will appreciate or not. Persistent insider distribution during a price increase suggests that the issue is overvalued, just like in the case of US Surgical. Legent Corp is another issue whereby insider selling warned investors of forthcoming negative developments. A list of issues indicating high volume of insider selling is presented. Caution is recommended for these issues as of mid-Apr 1993.

Buy side activity

Article Abstract:

Insider buying in securities for the first two weeks of Apr 1993 is minimal. Only the drug issues indicated some purchases although most of them are single insider trades. The absence of buy clusters suggests that bargain hunting is in its early stages. Minimal insider buying might be a good sign to sell some shares. Overall, caution is recommended for investors who are planning to acquire some shares.
