Caradon

Article Abstract:

Caradon plans a restructuring which will lead to a charge of some 20 million pounds sterling by year-end 1995. The company faces a trading downturn for its windows and doors operations but has helped offset this through the acquisition of Weru which has prevented a loss for the division in 1st half 1995. Raw materials costs have risen for the company's plastics division, and there is pressure for Caradon's security printing operations. Margins have improved for other divisions such as plumbing and structural building.
