Carnival's first mall 'Vacation Store' opens

Carnival Cruise Lines Inc opened its first Vacation Store at the Arlington shopping center near Dallas, TX. Representing a bold new concept in vacation marketing, the store is intended to provide shoppers with a convenient way to learn about the 'Fun Ship.' The company aims to reach out to new consumers and expand the cruising industry, which has only 2% share of the total leisure travel market. The Vacation Store, which has a sleek, modern design, features interactive terminals that offer 360-degree 'virtual tours.'

InControl Systems is now offering its new Touchscreen MidiGuide, which uses a resistive touch screen interface and allows users to immediately obtain the information they need. The MidiGuide comes with a full graphic, back lit and high-resolution LCD screen. It comes with 1 MB of memory, with modules available up to 8 MB, and can be customized for a variety of applications. Basic graphics including line art and company logos can be displayed with the MidiGuide.
