Carol Loughrey to be CICA chair in 1994
Article Abstract:
The Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants appointed Carol Loughrey as its new second vice-chair. She is also the first woman to hold the position. Loughrey was 1986-87 president of the New Brunswick provincial institute which initiated decreased fees for members who wished to take a leave from their careers and extended from three to five years the period in which members may take a reexamination. She believes that she has the qualifications for the job and looks forward to confronting the changes in the profession when she assumes the vice-chair.

On-line and on target! Results from a CICA Web site survey
Article Abstract:
An on-line survey conducted by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) on the utility and effectivity of its Web site revealed a high user regard for the Web site. CICA's Web site received high marks for information content and relevance but must be reconfigured for user-friendliness, given the 44% on its user-friendliness. The site also needs to be improved in terms of its menu items to increase it ease-of-use.
