Jobs to die for

Article Abstract:

UK employers face a probable increase in claims over stress at work following ajudgement over the case of a social worker who suffered two breakdowns and did not have hiswork load perceptibly reduced. Employers may have to pay personal injury compensation, whichis more expensive than compensation for unfair dismissal. Many companies are introducingprograms to reduce stress levels. Stress can affect motivation, morale, and lead to absenteeism. There is also concern among employees that permanent jobs have disappeared.

Image speaks louder than words

Article Abstract:

Companies are increasingly moving into international markets and this means that they have to develop a clear rationale for selecting some markets rather than others. Companies that set out clear strategies in annual reports can focus on new strategies in a way that readers can follow. The front page of the report can use a design that enhances the content. Imitation of US companies is no longer seen as a way of making a company appear to be truly international.
