Coaching: the new religion?

Article Abstract:

Executive coaching is becoming a flourishing industry in UK with newly qualified and experienced accountants, lawyers and civil servants, directors and chief executives being benefited by it. External executive coaching came up as the third most effective means of developing leaders, with 84% of respondents rating is as effective in the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development's 2005 training and development survey.

Big fish in small ponds

Article Abstract:

A professional from a large accountancy practice cannot be assured that he could be successful in a different world of a smaller firm, despite his brightness and professionalism or his successful career in the Big Four. Hiring a successful professional of a large firm involves risks, and therefore a better alternative might be to appoint new staffs who has succeeded in other small firms.
