Comcast's hostile offer puts Disney in play

Comcast, the largest high-speed internet service provider in the U.S. offered to buy Walt Disney, the American entertainment icon due to dissension in the shareholder ranks of the company. To buy Disney, Comcast will have to bid higher, however, Comcast is sticking to its original offer, as there are no new suitors to buy Disney.

Private equity funds go shopping in Europe

Clayton Dubilier & Rice, a New York based private equity firm has entered into an agreement with France based Pinault-Printemps-Redoute for purchasing Rexel, an equipment supplier from the French company. The details of the deal are presented. Other acquisitions by private equity funds in the European market are also discussed.
