Communication is king

Article Abstract:

The U.K. Revenue & Customs faced a couple of public relations disasters February 2007 when it issued new advisory fuel rates for company cars giving only 72 hours notice, and with the confusion over the small companies e-filing incentive. However, those who filed their tax returns at the last minute, only to find that industrial action by the department made it impossible to file by hand, were assured by the Revenue that the no late filing penalty would be charged and the enquiry window would not be extended.
