Crossing funds

Article Abstract:

Investors who choose funds for British individual savings accounts (Isas) will need to monitor them, since performance can vary over time. Time delays can be a problem when switching from one provider to another, though this is not the case when moving to another fund from the same company. Investors should assess a range of funds from the group they are considering investing with. Umbrella Isa investments can also be used, allowing access to funds offered by different fund managers.

Invesco English: small is beautiful

Article Abstract:

Invesco English is an investment trust which specializes in smaller firms in the UK. Small firms could see a rise in their share price above average for 1996, after an underperformance in 1995. There could be problems from the geographical specialization since UK share price rises could be halted by earnings disappointments. Small firms could benefit from a drop in interest rates and a boost to consumption. This trust emphasizes cyclical industries.
