Centenary book captures newspaper's local history

Article Abstract:

The Sunday Times, a newspaper operating in West Australia, Australia, decided to create a special edition book to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the newspaper. The publication's employees chose to emphasize the development of the newspaper rather than simply narrate its history. This successful approach reminded members of the community of the newspaper's own links to their own lives. Newspaper staffers produced point-of-sale and in-paper materials to market the soft-copy and hard-bound editions of the special edition publication dubbed A Century of Sundays.
