D&O and healthcare lead the list of headaches in 2005

Article Abstract:

A survey conducted by Treasury 7 Risk Management of 266 insurance decision makers, including CFOs, risk managers, treasurers and controllers, reveals that large corporations with over $1 billion annual revenues get better bargains in insurance products than smaller companies. More than 50% of larger companies considered directors and officers (D&O) liability as their most difficult policy in relation to cost and coverage. Other findings of the survey are detailed.

Counteracting interest rate creep

Article Abstract:

Many corporations are undertaking strategies to counteract the increases in prime lending rates of commercial banks that resulted from a series of interest rate hikes or creep imposed by the Federal Reserve. The rate creep have forced some companies to reduce overall debt and increased flexibility in using swaps to take advantage of short term rate declines other firms have sought alternative financing in the form of revenue bonds fixed to T-bills.
