Daptomycin

Article Abstract:

New antibiotics need to be identified to curtail the problem of the increase in resistance among the patients against the antibiotics. Daptomycin is identified to treat the patients suffering from complicated skin and skin structure infections (cSSSI) which are caused due to a series of gram-positive bacteria and up to 2004 there is no instance of resistance having developed against this medicine.

Gefitinib

Article Abstract:

The cytotoxic chemotherapy used in the treatment of some solid tumors and lung cancer is not so effective and has some side effects. Gefitinib, which was invented in July 2002, was approved by the FDA in May 2003 as a monotheraphy for the treatment of patients with locally advanced or metastatic non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after failure of both platinum-based and docetaxel chemotherapies.

Rosuvastatin calcium

The drugs that reduce cholesterol have a close relation between the low-density-lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and the reduction in the rate of coronary heart disease. Rosuvastatin calcium is displayed as an adjunct to diet to lower the increased levels of LDL-C, total - C and Apo B in patients suffering from hypercholestrolaemia.
