Ian Morris, the outgoing president of the ICAEW, whose term has been extended for another six months, discusses the institute's new program to build financial literacy in schools. The program is aimed at teaching the know-how and acumen that are required in understanding and managing personal finance to students who may require them later in their life to cope with the demands of effective personal finance management.

Article Abstract:

The National Audit Office (NAO) is up against arms and is making strenuous representations to the government about the unexpected changes in the tax rules in the 2006 budget. The NAO feels that such drastic changes in the tax rules shouldn't be made without any prior consultation or opinion of tax experts.
