Dining in the rough

Article Abstract:

The development of the American ceramics artist, Malcolm Wright, and the influence of conventional Japanese craft and modern American tastes on his pottery are discussed. His learning experience with Japan's Karatsu masters helps him to create in a traditional manner, which makes his pots and dishes with their irregular shapes and rough texture generate a tactile communication between the creator and the user.
