EADS to provide 'Future Soldier Systems' to German forces

Article Abstract:

European Aeronautics Defense and Space Company (EADS) won the deal that will provide the German military with a suite of technologies known, as 'Future Soldier System' and which will decisively improve the protection of individual soldiers on dangerous missions. The new soldier system is based on an integrated system approach, which combines aspects of self-defense, communication, orienteering or navigation and arms, and has increased performance that new technologies bring for the protection of soldiers for information superiority as well as for mission effectiveness.

EADS says its helicopter is 'American'

Article Abstract:

American Eurocopter officials are of the opinion that the European origins of the UH-145 helicopter shouldn't be an issue in the Army's Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) competition. The officials at the unit of European Aeronautics Defence & Space Co. (EADS) has stated that if American Eurocopter wins the LUH contest, it would plan to ramp up UH-145 production in such a way that the helos eventually would be made largely in the US.

Bidding as prime contractor for army helicopter, EADS stresses U.S. roots

Article Abstract:

The North American operation of European Aerospace Defence and Space Company (EADS) has bid for the Pentagon procurement program to enter into the Army's Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) contest. The company will be providing the UH-145, a military version of the commercial EC-145 helo in the LUH competition that will replace old UH-1 Hueys.
