E&Y reveals silver lining as Equitable cloud lifts

Article Abstract:

The withdrawal of Equitable's gargantuan court claim against Ernst & Young, made the firm reveal record results of 15 percent fee growth for the year ended June 30, 2005, bringing total income to a record 945 million pound. Chairman Nick Land stated that its financial services business grew by over 30 percent in the year and its big audit wins were in the insurance sector.

Will equitable sink Ernst & Young?

Article Abstract:

The risk associated for Big Four firm on the pensions company, Equitable Life's decision of suing Ernst & Young (E&Y) for up to 2.6 billion pounds sterling for negligence, are discussed. The various concerns of the remaining auditing firms are highlighted, in case the court favors Equitable in its case against its former auditor.

Big four sued over billing practices

Article Abstract:

KPMG, Ernst and Young, and PricewaterhouseCoopers are being sued for allegedly overbilling clients in the U.S. for expenses related to travel. The Arkansas lawsuit accuses the four firms of billing clients for the full price of some travel-related expenses.
