Article Abstract:

Milk and other liquid consumer items should be packaged in plastic pouches insted of plastic jugs or paperboard cartons. Environmental studies show that the manufacture of the pouches require much less materials than jugs and cartons. The pouches are also durable, space-saving and tamper-evident. Milk also stay fresh longer because of the reduced possibilities of contamination. Despite these advantages, American dairies have yet to offer milk packaged in pouches as in Canada and Europe.

It took a long time to become accepted, but currently 95% of all parents use disposable diapers. There is some evidence that early toilet training is being put off by parents due to the convenience of disposable diapers.
