Effects of professional and non-professional investors' perceptions of board effectiveness on their judgments: an experimental study

Article Abstract:

A study on the investors' assessment of effectiveness of the judgments of board of directors is presented. The study finds that investors are inclined to be averse to board's decisions that entail investment risks. Board of directors, however, is judged positively, if there is any investment forthcoming from them. In this context, differences in perceptions of professional and non-professional investors are also discussed.
