Efficiency, flexibility, or both? Evidence linking strategy to performance in small firms

Article Abstract:

The study analyzes performance in small firms in relation to efficiency and flexibility strategies using size as a contributing factor to develop competing hypothesis. It was found that firms that mixed efficiency and flexibility significantly underperformed, while no differences in performance were found between firms utilizing either only efficiency strategies or only flexibility strategies.
