Employers' duties and employees' rights

Article Abstract:

Section 81(2) of the Employment Protection (Consolidation) Act of 1978 specifies the four cases in which employees may be declared redundant. These cases are: when the employer plans to close a business, when an employer decides to relocate elsewhere, when the employer no longer needs as many workers to perform the work needed, and when an employer no longer requires as many employees at a specific workplace. Employers planning a redundancy are required to give fair warning to employees and give due notice to a union or any group of employee representatives involved.

Two into one

Article Abstract:

The UK Accounting Standards Board has suggested uniting profit and loss statements with the total recognized gains and losses into a single form. The proposal's use of "financial performance," however, is flawed and will not accurately track hedge accounting.
