Enhancing the control of force in putting by video game training

Article Abstract:

Two methods are used to adjust a golf player's putting force in a video-game setting. One consisted of an analogue approach that focused on the virtual player's motion; the other consisted of a scale gauge indicating the virtual player's force. Findings indicate a positive transfer of putting skill from video to actual play with the scale gauge approach.

Perception of the vertical with a head-mounted visual frame during head tilt

Article Abstract:

The influences of a head-fixed visual frame on the perception of verticality were investigated. The results indicate that integrating visual information in the head-centric reference frame is crucial for spatial orientation and this property of the perceptual system can be taken into account in the design of head-mounted displays for aeronautics.

Standing at a kiosk: Effects of key size and spacing on touch screen numeric keypad performance and user preference

Article Abstract:

A study to find the smallest satisfactory key size as well as the most effective one for performance on a touch screen kiosk is presented. Both key size and key spacing were observed with 10, 15, 20 and 25 mm square key sizes and edge-to-edge key spacing and it was found that people preferred key size 20mm.
