Eurotherm

Article Abstract:

Eurotherm will be able to continue with its acquisition strategy following the departure of board members who are believed to have opposed such a policy. Claes Hultman, chief executive, has returned to the helm and has 34 million pounds sterling net cash available. He can also take on some 40 million pounds debt. Acquisitions appear necessary because conditions are difficult in Scandinavia and Germany, and sales in the US are slowing. New products will help boost Eurotherm's market shares and the company has also acquired for new businesses.

Securing new contracts

Article Abstract:

Jasmin has seen a drop in its stock price, and the company has not been awarded high-profile contracts it had sought from the United Kingdom Defense Ministry. The company may still be awarded another defense contract, and should benefit from revenue from its digital closed circuit TV systems. The company has a good track record for the five years to 1999, despite large orders making progres uneven. The company's profit may have dropped slightly to some 800,000 for 1998-1999, but it has good prospects.
