Everybody counts in schools

Article Abstract:

The "Everybody Counts" initiative launched in Oct, 1999, by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales has been successful in encouraging chartered accountants to directly help their communities. Volunteers have assisted in a reading program at one school and in teenage mentoring at another.

The author discusses the Everybody Counts initiative, which allows accountants to volunteer their time and services to local UK communities. A discussion of accountants serving as community treasurers and financial advisers is presented.
