External and internal geometry of European adults

Article Abstract:

A stereo-radiographic 3D reconstruction technique is used to investigate the external and internal body geometry of European adults in order to understand human anthropometry. The analysis has resulted in a unique geometrical database enabling improvement of numerical models of the human body for crash test simulation and has offered various possibilities in the anthropometry field.

The effect of reducing the number of EMG channel inputs on loading and stiffness estimates from an EMG-driven model of the spine

Article Abstract:

The sensitivity of common electromyography (EMG)-driven model outputs, adapted from eight channels, to the removal of individual EMG channels is determined. Results indicate that the eight-channel model provided estimates for the majority of output variables that did not differ significantly from the 14-channel model.

Development and assessment of the Canadian personal load carriage system using objective biomechanical measures

Article Abstract:

Contributions by biochemical testing to the final design of the final Canadian new personal load carriage (LC) system for the Canadian Forces were studied in detail. A comparison was made of the test data to 17 systems previously tested and the measures obtained were found to be helpful to the design team.
