Fast orders help traders net profits

Article Abstract:

Tradanet is a new brand of electronic data interchange (EDI) that can greatly improve distribution of goods. This computerized system creates fast-track electronic links along distribution chains, thereby reducing lead time for many retailers. EDI technology offers both retailers and their suppliers several advantages. Retailers can improve their profits through a decrease in stock holdings and by exploiting the sales-based forecasting potential of EDI. Suppliers can save on clerical costs because EDI makes dealing with orders and information more efficient.

Software: a hard asset?

Article Abstract:

Insolvency practitioners should pay careful attention to the questions of legal ownership involving computer software that form part of a computer company's assets. Application software, though considered an intangible asset, may prove to be quite valuable, hence, the need to ensure that its full value is established. Steps that practitioners may take in assessing a software program's value include locating the program's source code, determining the terms of the software's license, and establishing the computer program's copyright.
