Fibernet still needs to justify its share price

Fibernet carried out a stock placing on the United Kingdom Alternative Invetsment Market in 1996 and raised 10 million pounds sterling. The company needed funds to establish TANet, a telecoms network. TANet is losing money but Fibernet has reported a rise in operating profit for its networking products operations every year since 1996. Fibernet is likely to report a pre-tax loss of 2.5 million pounds sterling for 1997 to 1998, but the company has a strong order book.
