Article Abstract:

The emergence of financialization in the wine industry by wine multinationals (MNEs), by analyzing the MNE's strategy in the world market as well as using a sample of major MNEs listed on stock markets is explored. Results indicated that restructuring MNEs in the wine industry appeared more and more influenced by the model of shareholder value creation and this had a major impact across the whole wine chain (wine production, suppliers of raw material, wholesalers and distributors).
