The company is focusing on diamonds which benefit from price controls imposed by the Central Selling Organization of De Beers. Price volatility is thus less of a problem in this sector. The company mines alluvial diamonds rather than becoming involved in deep mining, which also reduces its risk levels. The diamonds tend to be of the higher-value gem quality rather than industrial diamonds.
