General Growth Properties & IBM to deploy interactive kiosks at malls

Article Abstract:

General Growth Properties (GGP) and International Business Machines have developed interactive media stations called MalibuDirect and installed at shopping malls owned by the former. The interactive kiosks will feature information on services and dot-com companies whose products are not usually found on the malls. MalibuDirect has six computer workstations with touch-tone screens, with each workstation hosting 12 online companies. Plasma screens and back-lit displays for brand messaging and product features would be incorporated in the kiosks.

Palisades Center mall signs GeePS to provide wireless technologies

Article Abstract:

The Palisades Center shopping mall has chosen GeePS.com to implement new mobile technologies for the wireless delivery of local shopping information and news to shoppers. The service would be available to consumers from cell phones and PDAs on an opt-in basis. John Mott, general manager of Palisades Center, said the mall's customers would be the first consumers in the US to receive messages from merchants of their choice.

Vitamins.com to install kiosks in Phar-Mor

Article Abstract:

Vitamins.com has formed a strategic marketing partnership with Phar-Mor chain of drug stores. The exclusive agreement calls for the installation of Web kiosks in participating Phar-Mor outlets to provide consumers with an opportunity to get health and nutrition information in real time. The agreement also involves putting Vitamins.com logos on Phar-Mor's merchandising materials and prescription.
