General warns of 'hollow' Iraq force without equipment, training

Article Abstract:

The United States Army General, who leads U.S. and coalition forces in Iraqi security units, warns that the Iraqi force would be a hollow force if they are not properly equipped with a rifle, uniform, radio and a vehicle. Gen. George Casey, the Army's nominee for commander, multinational force-Iraq said that United States should concentrate on producing quality forces rather than on large quantities of Iraqi military and police.

Army report details combat injuries in Iraq

Article Abstract:

An Army report that details combat injuries stated that two thirds of the Army soldiers wounded in Iraq suffered injury to the head, neck or upper extremities. The Army promised to supply at least 50,000 sets of shoulder attachments, known as deltoid axillary protective devices, or DAPs, which attach on the Interceptor vest to protect the shoulders and underarms.

Army: Logistics tracking technology urgently needed

Article Abstract:

The Army Strategic Planning Board has approved an operational requirement for additional systems to track the movement of material on the battlefield. Faced with a continuing insurgency in Iraq, military commanders had requested for more logistics-tracking technology.
