Geritol Extend goes for the old

Article Abstract:

SmithKline Beecham has regained the consumers 50 or older that it lost in the mid 80's when it repositioned Geritol, now Geritol Complete, as a women's product. Since SmithKline still saw potential for marketing a vitamin tablet to older people, the company did extensive research on market, products and older people. These efforts culminated with the introduction of Geritol Extend in about 1990. SmithKline advertising supports Geritol Extend by television advertising, coupons, direct mail and a big-band dance promotion.
