Business Intelligence (BI) software helps track the operational problems right from the managerial to the shop floor level and directs companies' attention to the units that need extra care and consideration. Issues concerned with the application of this software in several operational procedures of companies and the advantages of BI over the similar kind of product BPM from PeopleSoft are discussed.

Consumer-driven healthcare is a model where companies address the issue of rising health insurance costs by making their employees more responsible for their health expenses. By 2004, around 20% of U.S. companies, including Staples Inc. and Whole Foods Market Inc., were providing such a scheme to their workers, and this figure is likely to go up by 30% this year.
